Help pets with a new license plate

Help reduce the unwanted animals put to sleep at shelters every year by supporting the new Spay & Neuter license plates. The additional fee for a Spay & Neuter license plate will go towards funding spaying and neutering pets and spreading the word about the importance of spaying and neutering your pet.

I just clicked the Pre-Order button on the caspayplate.com website and ordered a new plate for my Focus. A standard plate is $50 and a personalized plate is $98, with renewal fees of $40 and $78. Approximately $40 per plate and renewal will go to the fund to cover the costs of spaying and neutering pets.

The goal of this program is to reach 7500 pre-orders before the plates are issued. It could take up to one year before the plates are delivered, but if the goal isn't met your money will be refunded.

Visit http://www.caspayplate.com for more information and to pre-order your Spay & Neuter license plates. Spaying and neutering your pet (dog, cat, or rabbit) will cut down and eliminate pet overpopulation and the high volume of animals killed in California animal shelters every year.

This is such a great idea. We need to educate people on the importance of spay/neuter as the shelters are overflowing with unwanted animals. Hopefully they can raise enough interest to get these made. I already pre-ordered one.

Thank you, Marla for all that you do.

Marla is the co-founder of Safe-Cat foundation and a volunteer at the Contra Costa County Animal Shelter in Martinez. She's been successful in rescuing hundreds of cats and kittens from the shelter and getting them adopted or into safe foster homes.

Marla knows first-hand the results of pet over population. Investing $50 in a license plate could save thousands of animals from being put to sleep. 7500 seems like a small number to start this program. We should be able to get 7500 orders for license plates from the East Bay alone.

Many residents of San Ramon have cats and dogs, bunnies, hamsters, and other pets. I'm sure most pet owners in San Ramon take responsibility for their pets and have them spayed or neutered, but many people in other parts of the state don't or can't afford to. That's why a program like this is so valuable, and really painless. It doesn't cost much and takes hardly any effort to go to the [Web Link CA Spay Plate website] and fill in the online form.
