Across the Bay from San Francisco, take the family to visit the USS Hornet, a restored aircraft carrier in Alameda. The USS Hornet served in WWII and recovered the Apollo 11 astronauts. Tour the bridge, hangar deck, engine room, navigation bridge, captain's bridge, primary flight control and flight deck, or ride in the flight simulator. Senior Support Program of the Tri-Valley is looking for volunteer drivers to transport seniors to their medical appointments. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license, a registered vehicle, carry automobile liability insurance, and have a clear DMV record.
