Posted by Joez Thoughtz, a resident of San Ramon, on May 14, 2010 at 10:58 am I often hear about layoff notices sent out every year, and then every year I hear about the notices being rescinded.
Is this a common thing where every year teachers and staff are on the firing line?
Is this a tactic to motivate people to increase taxes for education?
I have no idea though I have heard a few people state both of the positions but I have heard no data to back either up. Is it a little of both? Does anyone have details to back up either position or are both hearsay?

| Posted by Ms.Bunny, a resident of San Ramon, on May 19, 2010 at 10:34 am For as long as I can remember? This is not an atypical situation for San Ramon or many other school districts. It's a question of "wait and see" on budgeting, moreover all else. Education needs an overhaul fiscally within the State of California. Maybe this time, and through the many ensuing crisises? -It will happen.
Better accountability for monies spent is a real "bone of contention" for many of us witnessing the lack of fiscal awareness for the past, oh I'd say 20 years easily...I am waiting for that day to arrive before I give much more. Frankly? I'm more distressed at this moment that the services for the elderly, indiginent and mental illness populace, as well as child protective services areas being slashed/deleted than education. That's a FACT.
